Caitlin Collins is a recent New York transplant, originally hailing from the land of deep dish. Chicago still has a piece of her heart, and she happily remains able to work there as a local hire but she is excited for this newest (yorkiest) adventure.
She is a proud graduate of Northwestern University with a degree in Theatre and a Music Theatre Certificate and is thrilled to have recently been accepted into the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop as a lyricist. She received a Joseph Jefferson Award for Best Ensemble for Griffin Theatre's Production of Ragtime (which also won the Joseph Jefferson Award for Best Production,) and was also nominated for a Helen Hayes Award for Best Ensemble for Studio Theatre’s production of Hand To God in Washington, D.C. She has performed with many Chicago and regional theatres including the Goodman Theatre, Drury Lane, Indiana Repertory, Remy Bummpo, Cardinal Stage Company, The Palace Theater, and Provision Theater, and has done workshops/readings with such theatres as Steppenwolf, American Blues Theater, American Theater Company, and About Face Theatre. Television appearances include FOX’s Empire and NBC’s Chicago Fire. She can be seen in several independent films and commercials and her voice can be heard in video games, radio dramas, and commercial voice over work.
Caitlin is also a playwright, who's full-length play Outbound can be found on the New Play Exchange, and she loves sharing the performing arts with young people as a teaching artist. She is immensely grateful for the support of her family and friends and looks forward to what’s next!
